Wrist tattoos are inexpensive to get as compare to other body parts since images for these are usually on the smaller side. However, the wrist is a body part that is not fleshy and very close to the bone; there are lesser tissues to cushion the skin so expect pain to be on the higher scale when getting this tattoo. Also, the wrist being an area that is exposed and use a lot can be difficult to maintain that it might require touch-ups in the long run. However, these things do not seem to hinder tattoo aficionados from getting wrist tattoos as it can look really unique and stylish.

Wrist tattoos are rendered on ink in three different ways. The first one is the wrist band type which normally encircles the entire wrist as if creating a permanent bracelet. The popular designs are rosary, floral vines, Celtic art and charm bracelet.
The second type is the inner wrist tattoos which seem to be an area chosen by those who want to have the option of hiding it if needed. Images that can be usually found for inner wrist tattoos are stars, lettering, kanji, names and text in foreign words such as Latin and even Sanskrit.
The tattoos on the top of the wrist is the most visible tattoo of this kind. Designs can vary from small to large since they can extend up to the arm.
Nowadays, anything goes for tattoo images and even the most unexpected designs can look really interesting on the wrist especially if executed by a skilled tattoo artist.
Here are some samples of wrist tattoos and what they mean to the person sporting them:

Amber on her mom’s.
“She just liked the flow of the design and the colors. I think the only reason she chose for it to be on her left wrist is because she’s a left handed photographer and she wanted to be able to see it when she was out shooting.” |
