Tattoo Artist from Germany

Stefan Beckhusen is a full time tattoo artist from Germany and has his own studio. So if you are from Germany and looking for a great tattoo artist in the country, check out this guy…his works are amazing…This is the result of our interview with him as well as samples of the works he has done.
How long have you been a tattoo artist? I started tattooing when i was 13 years old (1973) with one needle and ink, pure old handmade! At that time no infos or equipment could be found, i needed 6 years to find a adress for original tattoo-colors and guns. Before i experienced with all inks available in any art-shops in my own skin.
What tattoo designs do you specialize in? Specialisation is a domain of insects. Humans should be multifunctional in any way, also in their job. But of course i’ve prior interests, that’s to use original photos as sample and to tattoo real images likely in color, that what we call art, no tribals. I also like to work with scripts. A written (tattooed) word is like a mantra. Everybody should have one.

What’s the most common design nowadays? In the moments more and more people ask for scripts in Old English, Old German or likely tattoo-style. In the last months (young) people asked every day for stars and chinese signs are running about the years (in spite od chinese politic).
Best place to get a personal tattoo design? That depends what you want. Sometimes i tell clients they should look in an art shop, a bookery. There you’ll find what others don’t have. This maybe the “Medusa” from “Caravaggio”, fantastic photos of flowers and animals, or outstanding fantasy prints.
Last not least it’s your choice of the artist who will give you the right tips for decision and who must be able to realize your ideas.
