Orchids are symbols for the exotic and mysterious and conveys the message of romance, extravagance and desire for intimacy. In China, it is a symbol of perfection while in England, the purple spots on the petals were said to represent the blood of Christ. This flower is also associated a lot with Hawaii since its commonly used as a lei.
The most popular variety of orchids that are seen as a tattoo design are the cattleyas which are the classic corsage flowers. This flower which has a short life,six or seven days, conveys charm, warmth and affection.

Lilies are associated with a lot of meaning and significance. In Victorian language, it is translated as youthful innocence. It is also the symbol of the Resurrection and closely associated with Easter. Lily tattoos are also said to symbolize fertility, erotic love and feminine deity.
Some of the most common varieties of lily that are chosen as a tattoo design are stargazer, lily of the valley and tiger lily. They can be found rendered on ink most commonly on women’s shoulder blade, lower back, arm, foot, ankle and even rib cage.
